According to the national standard "GB7588-2003 Elevator Manufacturing and Installation Safety Code", the following relevant regulations:

5.2.3 Ventilation of the hoistway

The hoistway should be properly ventilated, and the hoistway cannot be used for the ventilation of non-elevator rooms.

Note: In the absence of relevant codes or standards, it is recommended that the area of the vent at the top of the hoistway be at least 1% of the cross-sectional area of the hoistway.

8.16 Ventilation

8.16.1 The car without perforated doors shall be provided with ventilation holes in its upper and lower parts.

8.16.2 The effective area of the ventilation holes in the upper and lower parts of the car shall not be less than 1% of the effective area of the car. The clearance around the car door can be taken into account when calculating the area of the ventilation hole, but it shall not be greater than 50% of the required effective area.

8.16.3 The ventilation hole shall be arranged as follows: with a hard straight rod with a diameter of 10mm, it is impossible to pass through the car wall through the ventilation hole in the car.

In fact, in China, the elevator door close button can only save 1-2 seconds, because the door close button command is not in the "first priority". For example, if a passenger enters the elevator, the elevator will still interrupt the process of closing the door. In the case that the elevator door is not safely opened, pressing the close button does not work, from the time when the elevator door is fully opened, the time difference between pressing the close button to close the door directly and the elevator automatically closing the door is about 2 seconds on average.
